Resource Management and Public Authorities
Resource Management
Fitzherbert Rowe provides advice on all aspects of resource management and environment law. Our team can guide you through the regulatory requirements of environmental and planning legislation to obtain those consents and environmental approvals necessary to achieve your objectives.
Our team regularly advises on resource consents, plan changes and designations. We also advise clients on district and regional plans including compliance, liability and enforcement issues. We are also experienced in environmental due diligence.
We appear and advise on appeals, declaration and enforcement actions, judicial review proceedings and prosecutions for environmental offences. We can help you prepare and conduct resource consent hearings and can represent you should court proceedings become necessary.
Local government and public law
Our team has a range of experience in regulatory and administrative law. We regularly provide advice on governance, the Local Government Act 2002, official information and privacy, public sector legislation, judicial review and Maori land issues. We are also experienced in dealing with rating and development contributions, as well as other local government regulation such as Building Act matters.
We are trusted advisors to several Government agencies and local government authorities, and understand the governance and decision making processes of these public bodies.
